 The Role

At Last Mile Health (LMH), we make bold commitments that inspire innovation. Are you a skilled finance individual looking to build your career in improving financial practices in Liberia? If so, you may be our next Finance Officer in Rivercess or Grand Bassa Counties, Liberia.

As part of this role's key responsibilities, the incumbent will support field operations by ensuring funds availability to implement field activities while at the same time making sure the organization is in compliance with organizational & donor policies, as well as procedures and policies.

This position is only open to Liberian National Candidates currently located in Liberia.

Position: Two (2)

Location: Grand Bassa and Rivercess Counties, Liberia

 What You’ll Do

  • Disbursement of all petty cash requests once approved.
  • Safeguarding cash in the cash box and in the safe.
  • Reconciling the petty cash balance weekly and comparing it with all General Ledger (GL)  postings.
  • Preparing funding requests to replenish the petty cash box as needed.
  • Bank withdrawals based on authorized requests.
  • Support authorized payments to Community Health Assistants (CHAs) of incentives and programmatic disbursements.
  • Provide backup for the County Accountant.  
  • Maintain activity advances schedule monthly and reconcile it against General Ledger.
  • Ensuring no activity advance is older than 1 month from the date of disbursement without a written justification.
  • Proper authorization of expenses & appropriate use of funds.
  • Supporting documentation for all cash maintained both physical and soft copy attached to every transaction in NetSuite.

 What You’ll Bring

  • A Degree or Diploma in a business-related field (Preferable Finance/Accounting)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with different departments.
  • Relevant years of experience in (NGO related) finance role.

For Liberia the range is: $12,000 - $17,726 depending upon experience doing an equivalent role.
