Financial Advising Consultancy

The Role

Last Mile Health is seeking a part-time consultant with prior experience scaling a multi-national INGO, including big picture thinking on strategy and financial planning and analysis. The consultant will work alongside the Managing Director, Finance and the CEO to provide advisory support and strategic guidance.

Project Details

  • Commitment – 5 to 10 days per month for an initial period of 6 months (immediate availability preferred) 
  • Location – Remote (US based)

What You’ll Do

  • Assess current state of organizational strategic financial planning and management systems & policies to identify strengths, gaps and opportunities 
  • Support financial analyses and provide advice on major financial issues impacting LMH’s fiscal health with a view to assisting LMH’s leadership in decision-making processes
  • Provide strategic and forward looking advice that will enhance medium-term organization-wide effectiveness and impact
  • Work with the MD, Finance to clearly present and communicate budget and financial information to leadership 
  • Assess and advise on management and allocation of revenue sources 

What You’ll Bring

  • Prior experience working in senior management or providing advice to finance team members scaling multinational INGOs
  • Clear understanding of strategic finance metrics to consider tracking for effectiveness and impact
  • Working knowledge of GAAP

You’ll Impress Us If

  • You have experience working in both profit and nonprofit sectors and familiarity with global health 
  • You bring demonstrated experience working with and/or provide advice to finance teams with operations in sub-Saharan Africa
