Medical Director

The Role

The Medical Director will work directly with LMH’s Programs team and National Community Health Systems Team to ensure integration of clinical best practices and evidence are integrated and inform policies and program strategy to achieve excellence in Maternal, child, and neonatal health, Immunization and Routine Services including malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea, and malnutrition thus facilitating continuum of quality care.

 

What You'll Do

  • Draw upon feedback and observations from the field, work with Program team members and Clinical Subgroup to design priorities each quarter focused on improving clinical quality
  • Work with Global and National Program team members to ensure the clinical perspective and global evidence is incorporated into all relevant aspects of program development, including SOPs, curricula, and quality assurance tools
  • Support Operations Team in the selection of all medical supplies and commodities that are procured locally, ensuring quality, appropriateness, and correct storage of all items
  • Work with Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation team to review program metrics and strategy for data collection. Support of Clinical Partnerships with MOH, INGOs, NGOs
  • With NCHS, support LMH’s relationships with the Liberian Government and the Ministry of Health, NGO partners, donors, and other organizations
  • Provide clinical and technical guidance to the National Partnerships team in support of LMH’s policy advocacy and technical assistance to the Ministry of the Health
  • Support clinical evidence integration from programmatic work into midterm revisions of NCHAP.
  • Staff Health and Safety and Support of Referrals to a higher level of care
  • Assist the management team in ensuring the health of all LMH employees through the creation and revision of policies 
  • Participate in the Safety and Security Committee 
  • Oversee Clinical Coordinator in Support of Patient and Staff Care

What You'll Bring

  • A Medical Doctor Required
  • 2-5 years of work experience with a heavy focus in programmatic, public health, and systems work
  • Experience in Quality improvement required
  • Experience with OB ultrasound preferred
  • Experience with multidisciplinary education and working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience working alongside government partners and operational partners necessary
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
